Before you apply
- File your most recent tax return (and your partner's). Eligibility is based on it.
- Confirm you don't have access to private dental insurance.
- Have your Social Insurance Number and address details ready.
Steps
- Apply via Service Canada (online or phone).
- Income check: the CRA confirms your adjusted family net income.
- Enrolment: if approved, Sun Life administers your coverage and mails a welcome package / member details with a start date.
- Get care: visit a participating provider on or after your start date.
