Seniors were among the first groups enrolled

The CDCP rolled out to seniors first, and it's now open to eligible residents of all ages. If you're 65+, the same four requirements apply.

Eligibility uses adjusted family net income: your and your spouse/partner's combined net income. A modest pension can still keep you under the $90,000 threshold.

Pension coverage caveat

If you have dental coverage through a pension (including a government employer pension), that usually counts as access to private insurance and would make you ineligible. One exception: if you're retired, opted out of that pension coverage before December 11, 2023, and the pension rules don't let you opt back in, you may still qualify. Coverage through a government social program does not count either way.

Dentures, exams, cleanings and more are covered. See denture coverage.
